TNT Express adds electric vehicles to China fleet

17 March 2011 – TNT Express is adding four electric vehicles to its fleet in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou. The vans were designed and manufactured locally by Zotye Auto. They come equipped with a quick charge technology that allows to refill the electric battery in less than two hours. Each van can run up to 120 kilometres on a full charge and has a maximum load of 300 kg. China plans to put more than a million electric vehicles onto the road each year. Hangzhou is one of the 25 Chinese cities chosen to pilot energy-saving vehicles. TNT Express introduced five electric vehicles into its Shanghai fleet in September 2010.
