Publish Date : 3 March 2005 at 09:00 CET - TNT Express – the world's leading B2B express delivery company – has today announced a €14.3 million investment plan to expand capacity and upgrade facilities at its European road hub in Duiven, the Netherlands.

The planned expansion – to be completed by October 2005 - follows a significant increase in volumes since the hub first started operating in 1998. The investment plan includes:

  • Increased hub sortation space from 16,500 m² to 20,000 m²
  • Sorting capacity will be doubled to 11,000 pieces per hour
  • Extended office space and truck parking
  • Increased number of loading docks from 80 to 116
  • Improvements to staff and driver facilities

Additionally, the investment plan includes the purchasing of 25,000 m² of land adjacent to the hub to accommodate potential future expansion.
