TNT Express extends 'Express Import' service

Publish Date : 7 July 2005 at 08:00 CET - TNT Express – the world's leading business to business express delivery company – today announced that it has extended its ‘Express Import' service to 20 additional countries, including Brunei, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Iraq, Libya, Madagascar, Mexico, Morocco and Sri Lanka. TNT Express plans to add another 25 countries in the coming six month.

“Customer Service is at the heart of everything we do and the expansion of Express Import shows our commitment to handling all import requirements on behalf of our customers – from contacting suppliers abroad, ensuring that consignments are picked up on time, to taking care of all the necessary paperwork requirements and customs clearance,” explains Emma Cook, Director of Product & Strategic Pricing, TNT Express.

Customers using Express Import can send consignments with TNT's 9.00 express, 12.00 express, Global express and Economy express services. They can then follow each step of their consignments' progress by using TNT's web-based track and trace system and enjoy the simplicity and control of the delivery and costs through one invoice for all their requirements.

Express Import allows customers to use to arrange collections from a client in another country and pay for the delivery in their own currency, rather than a foreign one. It also enables customers to send shipments to a receiver in another country and have them pay for the transaction in the local currency, removing any difficulties arising from exchange rate conversions and fluctuations.

“The expansion of Express Import across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East brings the worldwide coverage to well over 100 countries this year and it is our intention to continue our expansion of the service until we reach all countries in the world”, continues Emma Cook.
