Mr. P.C. Klaver takes on position as chairman of TNT's Supervisory Board

Publish Date : 12 December 2008 at 13:00 CET - Amsterdam, following previous announcements on 18 February and 11 April 2008 TNT N.V. announces that as of 1 January 2009 Mr. P.C. Klaver takes on the position of chairman of TNT's Supervisory Board from which Mr. J.H.M. Hommen will per the same date step down. Piet Klaver is a member of TNT's Supervisory Board and has been the intended successor of Jan Hommen since the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 11 April 2008.

Mr. Klaver is also chairman of the Supervisory Board of Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the Utrecht School of Arts and Dekker Hout Groep B.V. Furthermore he is a member of the Supervisory Board of ING Group N.V., SHV Holdings N.V., African Parks foundation and Dura Vermeer Groep N.V. He is former chairman of the managing board of SHV Holdings N.V.

Mr. Hommen will remain a member of the Supervisory Board until his planned resignation at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 8 April 2009. Mr. Hommen is stepping down as chairman of the Supervisory Board as of 1 January 2009 to ensure a smooth transition to Mr. Klaver's commencement as the new chairman. Mr. Hommen has been chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2005 and a member since 1998.

The members of TNT's Supervisory Board and the Board of Management are extremely grateful for Mr. Hommen's contribution to the company and are confident that he will continue to be of great value in his role as a member of the Supervisory Board.
