Wandsworth's Gabriel Slips into Top Gear for Driving Acclaim

16-May-2008

Brilliant biker Gabriel Alves Dias is a driving force behind Britain's leading business-to-business express delivery company - so much so that he has been acclaimed as a superstar.

Gabriel, 24, topped a competition involving 1,700 other commercial vehicle drivers to win acclaim as the top Two-Wheel Driver at the 2008 'Superstar' Driver Excellence Awards hosted by TNT Express Services.

Working on behalf of the company's Special Services Division, Gabriel clocks up in excess of 80,000 miles a year on his trusty bike working out of the company's depot at the Southbank Business Centre, Ponton Road, Vauxhall, London.

After only a few months service to TNT in and around the capital, Gabriel won recognition at the coveted Awards ceremony after being nominated by a host of the company's customers.

His patience and willingness to go beyond the call of duty for us has been really commendable - so it is pleasing to hear that he has won this award."

Gabriel, from Wandsworth, who originally hails from Brazil, said: "I really enjoy my job, so it is easy for me to go that little bit extra to keep the customers happy.

"Winning this award was such a shock, but I'm really proud."

Tom Bell, Managing Director, TNT Express Services UK, said: "This award yet again underlines TNT's commitment to delivering consistently excellent customer service.

"Couriers play a crucial role, providing the service we promise and acting as ambassadors for the company. Gabriel is a credit to TNT Special Services.

"It's people of Gabriel's calibre that set us apart from other carriers in the specialist service sectors."

Gabriel now goes through to the National Courier Awards ceremony at The Institute of Directors on Pall Mall in London in September, when the finest of the finest in the 'time critical delivery' sector vye for the UK title.
