75 years on the clock for Glasgow trio
20-Oct-2005
The year was 1980 - the SAS stormed the Iranian Embassy in London, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan sparked a mass boycott of the Moscow Olympics, the world lost John Lennon to an assassin's bullet and millions of television viewers wondered who shot JR Ewing in the popular US soap opera, Dallas.
But the start of the 1980s was equally memorable for three Glasgow employees of express delivery giant TNT as it marked the beginning of a 25-year career journey.
