Greece 7th May 2008 : Please be advised that the Greek Union of truck drivers/owners have called an on-going strike. The strike started yesterday, the 6th May 2008 and has already generated difficult traffic conditions in the county. In addition, heavy shipments (freight above 50kg) pick up and deliveries cannot be performed. Part of the global express heavy freight is now processed through our TNT fleet but can only handle a limited number of consignments. This is a general strike which will affect all local companies in the transportation sector including express integrators. The international road linehauls have not been affected as the strike concerned is for local transportation operators only. It is requested that escalations are kept to a minimum during this time.
