Service Alerts

Below is a quick overview of events around the world that may cause delays to the delivery of your international mail.

New Disruption

Norway 16th May 2008: Please be advised that BGO Airport (Flesland) is closed due to strike action. Currently it is unknown how long the strike is likely to last. All air shipments destined for BGO will be sent by truck and will therefore suffer a 24 hour delay. All affected shipments will be show an update of LS and FR in the tracking system.

New Disruption

Ecuador 15th May 2008: Please be informed that due to a new structure implementation on the 14th May, the Ecuador Customs have ended contracts of approximately 337 staff members. This situation is critical and it is creating a heavy impact on the clearance process of all inbound and outbound material as the daily activities are on standby. The government has instructed the armed forces to protect the Customs area for a possible riot reaction from the dismissed employees. Therefore it is requested that all escalations are held until the situation returns to normal.

New Disruption

Kuwait 15th May 2008: Please be advised that due to Parliament elections being held on Saturday the 17th May 2008, pick up and deliveries will be impacted. There are expected road blocks and closures of roads where the election is being held. Customs clearance will be for low value shipments between the hours of 09:00 to 11:00 only. Please hold escalations during this time.

Ongoing Disruption

China 14th May 2008 (update) : Following the 7.9 earthquake in Sichuan province in Western China on the 12th May, service in all TNT depots has now resumed, including Chengdu (CTU). Due to large scale damage, such service will see delays over the next few weeks. Service to and from Chongqing (CKG) depot will also be delayed for the foreseeable future. Please hold escalations during this time.

Ongoing Disruption

Myanmar 8th May 2008 (update)
: Please be advised that service to Yangon city is partially restored. Most parts of Myanmar are flooded and those areas are inaccessible. Internet and Telephone lines are still experiencing connection problems and Myanmar therefore cannot answer internet requests/telephone calls during this time. It is hereby advised that escalations are held during this time and that High Priority pick-ups and deliveries to and from Myanmar are held during this time.

Baghdad 25th March 2008:
Please be informed in several parts of Baghdad curfew was imposed and major roads have been closed to public transportation. All Government, Public, Private Offices, Educational Institutions, Shops and Establishments are expected to remain closed during the curfew. Public transport and private vehicles will be off the roads. Please expect delays in Customs clearance, deliveries and pick ups. Please be advised that escalations are to be held during this time.
