Below is a quick overview of events around the world that may cause delays to the delivery of your international mail.
USA Delivery Delays - St Patrick's Day
Please note that due to the St Patrick's Day Parade today in NYC and Los ANGELES, and a Construction Crane accident in Manhattan, NY, some areas will not be accessible for P/U and Deliveries and thus, will incur 24 hour delays.
Consignments that could not be delivered today, will be attempted tomorrow. .
New Disruption
Beijing 4th March 2008: Please be advised that due to the 2008 NPC and CPPCC session held in Beijing from the 3rd March 2008 to the 16th March 2008 and the "Good Luck Beijing" games from the 18th March to the 23rd March 2008, additional interim traffic restrictions will be in place on the road network in Beijing. Pick up and Delivery activities may be restricted. It is asked that escalations are held during this period.
On-going Disruption
Germany - 29th February 2008: Please note that German customs are currently doing strict conformity checks on dutiable import material. This results in above average levels of shipments having to be forwarded to the German Central Clearance Gateway at Cologne/CGN for the checks/inspections requested by customs. The Brokerage Management Team are doing their utmost to deal with the situation and minimise the service impact on affected material, but some transit/on forwarding delays are to be expected. Status updates are in place in T&T for the affected material. Please hold escalations during this time.
On-going Disruption
Nepal 28th February 2008 (update): Following the previous service alert on Monday the 18th February, please be informed that strike and curfew is still ongoing in the Terai Region of Nepal. The fuel crisis also continues in Nepal. Pick-ups and deliveries will be affected both inside and outside of the Kathmandu valley. There will be delay in delivery and pick-ups to the following countries:
Bhadrapur, Bhairawa, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Birtamod, Damak, Dang, Dhangadi, Dhankuta, Dharan, Duhabi, Gaur, Ghorahi, Hetauda, Ilam, Inaruwa, Itahari, Jaleshworjhapa, Janakpur, Kalaiya, Krishnanagar, Lahan, Mahendranagar, Malangawa, Rajbiraj, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Simara, Siraha, Sunsari, Taulihawa, Tulsipur and Udayapur.

Kenya (Update) 15th January 2008: Further to previous broadcasts, please be informed that civil unrest and tension continue within Kenya. Service levels may again be affected in Kenya for the remainder of this week with opposition demonstrations forecast country-wide for Wednesday the 16th January to Friday the 18th January 2008. Nairobi may also experience service restrictions today. It is requested that escalations are held until the situation resumes to normal.
