General Service Update
: Tuesday, 6 March 20126 March 2012 - Victoria, NSW and QLD affected by flood waters
Please note heavy rainfall and resulting floods continue to impact a number of TNT’s operations today, particularly on the Sunshine Coast and in Wagga.
Further to yesterday’s service update, further rain in and around the Sunshine Coast and Gympie region have resulted in additional road closures, including the Bruce Highway. While TNT anticipates some minor delays, all TNT linehaul shipments were successfully diverted overnight except those bound for Gympie.
The situation in Wagga continues to deteriorate with the CBD now evacuated amid further concerns regarding the potential breach of levy banks sometime today. TNT’s depot remains closed with inbound linehaul from Sydney and Melbourne being diverted to Albury. Attempts will be made to deliver freight to all serviceable areas, however, delays should be expected where freight is bound for evacuated or flooded areas.
TNT will continue to monitor the situation closely and develop further contingencies as weather and associated circumstances improve. We recommend those customers wishing to send urgent freight to any flood affected areas do so using one of TNT’s Priority services (9:00, 10:00, 12:00 and/or Overnight Express) to ensure delays are avoided. Detailed information regarding individual consignment status can be found using TNT’s online track and trace system.
