TNT Express in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is listed among the next 11 emerging markets or "N11"thanks to a rapid growing population and a significant industrial capacity. In 2009, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bangladesh ranked as the 48th largest economy in the world. In 2010, despite the global downturn Bangladesh's economy achieved 6% of growth. Exports of garments and textiles are one of the main sources of foreign exchange earning,accounting for 80% of the total exports and reaching 15, 56 billion in 2010.

TNT Express started operating in Bangladesh in 1983, through their associate BTS (Bangladesh Trade Syndicate). In 2010, the results were higher than what was expected as the turnover doubled. The appointment of Mr. Rajiv Batacharya as the Country Manager brought a significant change to TNT in Bangladesh, his vision and his excellent track record helped in building up a valued reputation for TNT.
