In a further investment in regional networks TNT Express has received formal approval to transport hazardous goods throughout the Middle East.
Transport of hazardous goods in the Middle East is a difficult affair, due to the complexity of regulations along with the extreme heat during the summer months. TNT operates a Middle East Road Network (MERN) throughout the GCC and Levant countries and the accreditation will allow immediate support for existing clients in the Automotive, Hitech and Energy sectors, as well as expanding new clients.
TNT’s road and air networks plus the operational handling facilities were subject to stringent checks required by IATA for air and ADR for road movements.
TNT Express has seen tremendous growth in the Middle East over the last few years and this investment is one of many intended to maintain the rate of growth in the coming five years as part of the global giant’s ‘Vision 2015’.
Bryan Moulds, Regional Managing Director – Middle East commented, “TNT Express has seen great success here in the region, especially from our regional hub in the UAE, this due primarily to our quality, reliability and ultimately the support of our customers’ needs. This service enhancement gives us the opportunity to widen our trading relationship further, while keeping our clients under the TNT umbrella.”
