TNT provides customers with collection and delivery services in remote and less-accessible locations for which an additional "Out of Area" surcharge is applied to recover the additional costs incurred.

A non-electronic surcharge is applied to consignments where data is not electronically submitted, i.e. handwritten consignment notes. A charge is applied when customers require a paper invoice.
Customers can select "Invoice to Receiver" on the consignment note to indicate that the invoice is to be sent to the receiver in the local currency.
Following recent incidents involving the transportation of packages containing illegal explosive devices, TNT is implementing additional procedures, activities and investments to safeguard our customers' shipments whilst in our custody. To partially offset the additional costs an Enhanced Security Surcharge will be applied to all shipments from the January 2nd 2011.
