Grease was the word for a group of 'Pink Ladies' at express delivery giant TNT who led a blockbusting £17,000 fund-raising effort for Breast Cancer Campaign's 'Wear it Pink' day.

The bevy of TNT Special Services' beauties, dressed as characters from the blockbusting 'Grease' movie, played their part in a magnificent charity effort. The express delivery giant has now raised in excess of £57,000 since it started supporting Wear It Pink day in 2006.

This year, thousands of employees at TNT's 70 UK locations took part in the charity event - part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Donning pink bras, pink hats, t-shirts, ties, wigs, trousers and other crazy outfits as well as hosting dozens of fund-raising events to support the initiative, the TNT employees raised their largest ever one-day amount.

Tom Bell, Regional Managing Director,  said: "It's incredible to think that in just four years the company has raised such a great sum of money, and the fact that we've raised more during the recession than any other year.

"Economically, times are hard, so I'm especially proud our people have raised such a great sum."

Since it started in 2003, Wear it Pink events have raised a staggering £10 million to help the Breast Cancer Campaign continue researching the cure for breast cancer.

Tom added: "We have a strong focus on the children's charity, Wooden Spoon, and have donated more than £2.5 million in recent years to help disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK.  Internationally, we support the United Nations World Food Programme and have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to help feed and educate children in Africa."

In 2006, TNT took top honours for its 'Wear it Pink' efforts by raising more than any other company in the UK and earning acclaim as the 'Wear It Pink' Fundraiser of the Year.
