UK Bribery Act
TNT is committed to operate its business openly and honestly. In 2006 the TNT Integrity Programme was introduced in order to enhance openness, trust and an ethical and transparent way of doing business. The programme is based on the following policies and procedure; TNT Express Business Principles, TNT Express Whistleblower Procedure, TNT Express Fraud Prevention Policy, TNT Express Conflict of Interest Policy, TNT Express Gifts and Entertainment Policy, TNT Express Policy on Pre-Employment Screening, TNT Express Policy on Associates and TNT Express Policy on Disciplinary Action.
In addition a country specific UK programme has also been in place since 2010 to prepare for the introduction of the new UK Bribery Act in July 2011. To drive this, the UK Board has appointed an Integrity Committee responsible for ensuring that we comply with the terms of the Act and the wider TNT Express Integrity Policies across the UK business. Our approach to the UK Bribery Act is based upon the six guidance principles produced by the Ministry of Justice; proportionate procedures, top level commitment, risk assessment, communication and training, due diligence and monitoring and review.
I hope that this provides you with the necessary assurances. For additional information regarding integrity at TNT you may want to refer to chapter 10 of the 2010 TNT annual report that can be found on our corporate website http://www.tnt.com/corporate.
