Competitive Advantage of Advanced Technology’s Deployment in Entering The Era of Digital Communication

TNT Express Indonesia will now provide its customers with online access to POD (Proof of Delivery) signature images. It is a new standard feature of the company’s track and trace facility within its online and PC-based shipping tools myTNT, and ExpressShipper.

A POD signature image is a digital copy of the receiver’s signature, plus the date and time of delivery. Images will typically be available the morning after the day of delivery. Easy access will benefit senders by giving more control over their shipments. It also facilitates their administrative process and helps them get invoices paid. TNT Express makes the service available to its customers without the need to request it. The service does not carry any additional charges.

“In the era of digital communication where fast and reliable information has become a necessity, TNT continuously improves and enhances our technology deployment as our competitive advantage that answers customers’ changing needs. Our new and updated technology enables customers to get all information they need at a glance through online media. TNT is the first express delivery company to show customers worldwide hard copy proof of deliveries signed by customers on the internet.” said Ivan Siew, Director of TNT Indonesia.

The launch of online PoD signature image presents benefits to our customers, including:
  • Availability worldwide of POD Signatures available the morning after the day of delivery.
  • Allowing customers to sign once for multiple consignments delivered.
  • Allowing customers to view the signature of POD image, print it, download it and attached it to an email for forwarding the image to another person if required.
  • Efficient, simple, friendly and easy to use.

While for TNT, it increases company’s productivity and efficiency, including:
  • Reduction in Customer Service support line of calls due to near “real-time” availability of POD Images to customers via the web.
  • Reduced Operations “Office” process hours where run sheet imaging is no longer required or significantly reduced.
  • Improved POD Signature Capture process for Drivers.
  • Significant reductions in Paper consumption which reduce costs, waste and subsequently contribute to the preservation of the environment.

Besides Indonesia, TNT Express also provides POD signature images from more than 85 countries, covering more than 90% of the shipments it carries. The geographical coverage is set to increase to well over 100 destinations in the coming few months as TNT Express continues to roll out the solution to more countries and territories worldwide.

Recently, TNT had also launched e-Invoicing service - web-based secure electronic invoicing, which is provided free of charge, offers time- and cost savings, environmental and security benefits for both TNT and its clients. “Upgraded technology applied showed TNT commitment to remain one step ahead in customer satisfaction and extend market position in the industry.
