Special Handling Surcharges

Freight of a non-standard nature creates special challenges within our networks.

To ensure that your shipments are delivered on time and in perfect condition, please familiarise yourself with the types of shipments that require special handling.

Below you will find three "Special Handling" categories where an additional surcharge is applied to compensate for the additional costs incurred.

Health and Safety (HS)

Items that could cause injury such as unwrapped metals or undeclared hazardous goods.

Non-stackable (NS)

Unstackable items - also known as pyramid pallets - are pallets which do not allow other items to be placed on top, and this requires extra handling time and resources.

Non-conveyable (NC)

Unconveyable items are extra long packages that require separate handling as they cannot be placed on automated conveyor machinery or in TNT containers.
