Kuala Lumpur – TNT Express announces the worldwide launch of its new Express Import system which gives customers complete control over their import shipments. This web-based tool lets companies order the collection of import shipments from around 170 countries with quotations and billing in their local currency to better control shipping costs.
TNT’s system enhances its current Express Import services and is available to all customers regardless the type or size of their business, and whether they are sourcing finished goods or spare parts from multiple suppliers around the world.
One unique feature of TNT’s Express Import system is the option to request a quotation before the booking is completed. This means customers can effectively decide when their import shipment will arrive and at what cost. TNT ships the goods via its ground or air network, depending on the customer’s budget and timeline requirements. Express Import is available with any of TNT’s core delivery services: 9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express, Express and Economy Express.
TNT’s Express Import system not only offers greater control, it is convenient to use and highly automated. The importing customer enters orders online and connects to the sender via email. TNT takes care of language barriers, produces the necessary paperwork for the sender, and handles collection, transportation, customs clearance as required and delivery of the consignment to the designated address.
To speed up orders and communication between receiving customers and senders, the Express Import system also features the following:
- An address book, which suppresses the need to retype details of recurring orders.
- A repeat order function that lets the customer repeat orders in seconds.
- An overview of all import orders issued and their current status.
The system is available in several languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The introduction of the latest Express Import system underlines TNT’s commitment to offering unrivalled customer service.
Gerry Power, managing director for TNT Malaysia and Brunei, said, “The government has predicted a 5.2 percent GDP growth this year and Malaysia’s industrial activity is expanding. Our online import system will cater to the increasing demand for express import services in the country. We believe that this new system will help our customers save time, improve their processes and overall productivity. ”
“TNT has seen a booming demand for import services in Asia and we want to make importing easier for our customers. This best-in-class online system gives our customers greater visibility, control and speed over their delivery orders. With this efficient import tool, our customers are empowered with the choice of selecting a delivery option that best serves their need. ” said Karel van de Pijpekamp, sales and marketing director of TNT Southeast Asia and India.
TNT Express transports several million import consignments every year. Partly due to the rise of China, India, and other emerging economies for production, import demand has grown faster than export demand for TNT.
