Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 0% effective June 1, 2018
As announced by the New Malaysia Government, all taxable supply of goods and services as well as imported shipments into Malaysia that were subject to GST at the standard rate of 6% will be zero-rated (0%) effective June 1, 2018.
With this change, all imported shipment values that are subject to GST of 6% will change to 0% with effect from 1 June 2018, which includes TNT Domestic and advancement fees.

Goods and Services Tax Implementation on April 1, 2015
Goods & Services Tax will come to effect on April 1, 2015, replacing the current sales and service tax. In preparation for GST, TNT Malaysia is working closely with government bodies and agencies towards compliance with the implementation.
For us to have a hassle free custom clearance on your behalf, we would like to inform you a few items which would require your attention and action:
1) All import shipments into Malaysia are subject to GST except for those under specific schemes like Approved Trader Scheme (ATS). Company in License Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) and Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) which does not have ATS will need to have Customs Form 1 (K1 Form) with payable declaration upon import clearance for GST. For easier reference, should you have ATS, we would need you to forward all Approved Trader Scheme to GST.MY@tnt.com.
2) Please note that tariff code and goods description is required to be stated clearly in the commercial invoice.
3) Confirmation of duty will need to be given to TNT Malaysia by 31st of March before 4:00pm for shipment clearance without GST.
