The following fees are in addition to our normal transport rates and are in New Zealand dollars:
Non Electronic Invoice
A fee of $5.00 applies for non-electronic invoices. To sign up for e-invoicing, click here.
Variable Fuel Component
TNT's Variable Fuel Component (VFC) applies to all international shipments. The VFC is calculated as a percentage of your freight charge. To obtain your consignment price, add the VFC amount to the freight charge. The VFC fluctuates monthly and further information can be found here.
Enhanced Security
TNT has implemented additional procedures, activities and investments to safeguard shipments whilst in our custody.
To partially offset the additional costs an Enhanced Security Fee applies at the rate of $0.09 per kilo* (subject to a minimum of $0.95 and a maximum of $19.00 per shipment) for all international Express, Economy Express and Special Services shipments.
*payweight (being the greater of the volumetric weight or the actual weight of the consignment)
Manual Consignment Note
A fee of $6.00 applies to manually written export consignment notes. For information on generating your invoices online via myTNT, click here.
Out of Area Locations
Deliveries to out of area locations will incur a $30.00 fee. For more information and a list of international out of area locations click here.
Delivered Duty Paid
Delivered Duty Paid (free domicile) consignments will incur a $30.00 fee.
Advance of Funds
An Advance of Funds fee of 2% of the consignment charge applies where TNT Express disburses government charges, duties, quarantine and inspection fees and taxes on a customer's behalf in order to expedite customs clearance.
Additional information
Border Control
Any duty and taxes, fees charged by border control agencies for bio-security inspections are not included in our rates.
Exports and imports
All export shipments with a value over $1000 will incur an additional export entry charge as levied by Customs under the 'Customs and Excise Act 1996'. The export entry charge as at 21 December 2011 is $14.56 (incl. GST).
All import shipments requiring an import entry will incur an additional import entry charge, as levied by Customs under the 'Customs and Excise Act 1996'. The import entry charge as at 21 December 2011 is $38.07 (incl. GST).
These shipments are also subject to a biosecurity system entry levy of $12.77 (incl. GST), as levied under the Biosecurity (System Entry Levy) Order 2010'. The biosecurity system entry levy as at 21 December 2011 is $12.77 (incl. GST).

Notes
Fees quoted above at GST exclusive (unlcess otherwise stated). GST will be charged if applicable and must be paid at the same time as the applicable fee is paid to TNT.
