Below is a quick overview of events around the world that may cause delays to the delivery of your international consignment.

Service Suspension

Somalia 12th September 2008: Further to previous broadcasts, please be informed that service to BARAVO, GALKAYO, GAROWE, HARGESIA, JOWHAR, MARKA & MOGADISHU towns are now available. All other locations in Somalia remain suspended until further notice due to unstable conditions.

Typhoon

Taiwan 12th September 2008: A typhoon is predicted to hit Taiwan this weekend (13th and 14th September 2008). This could impact all flights in and out Taiwan.

Unexpected Customs Strike

Greece 11th September 2008: Please be informed that  a Customs strike has been announced unexpectedly today  with immediate effect from 12:00 pm. This is expected to continue into tomorrow, 12th September 2008.

The impact of this Strike, is that no Import Customs Clearances will be performed for the duration, with the added effect that no formal exports can be handled for high values. Exported Non-EC Low Value Shipments and Mail will not be affected.

New Disruption

Sweden 19th June 2008 : Please be advised that it is a National Holiday in Sweden on Friday the 20th June. Please hold escalations until Monday the 23rd June 2008.

On-going Disruption

Switzerland and Austria 4th June 2008: Please be advised that between Saturday the 7th June and Sunday the 29th June 2008, the European Football Championship will take place in Switzerland and Austria. This will result in delays (pick-up and deliveries) in some areas of Switzerland. This could affect the host cities, Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich but could also affect other areas due to various public viewing places and higher traffic volume all over Switzerland. The impact will be kept as low as possible. All relevant shipments will be given an "AN" status update.

On-going Disruption

Baghdad 25th March 2008: Please be informed in several parts of Baghdad curfew was imposed and major roads have been closed to public transportation. All Government, Public, Private Offices, Educational Institutions, Shops and Establishments are expected to remain closed during the curfew. Public transport and private vehicles will be off the roads. Please expect delays in Customs clearance, deliveries and pick ups. Please be advised that escalations are to be held during this time.
