Issued by IQ Net (Vincotte) International, the auditors visited TNT Express offices and warehouses at Jeddah and Dhahran to interview the employees, review and assess the standards for managing the workplace overlooking a period of 3 years. During the closing meeting, the auditors were very appreciative of the great effort put in by TNT Express Saudi Arabia for implementing and maintaining the standard of the SA8000 management system.

Martyn Wright, Managing Director for TNT Express Saudi Arabia said: “This is a milestone achievement since TNT Express Saudi Arabia is the first company in the Kingdom to receive this certificate. SA8000 (Social Accountability 8000) is based on the principles of international standards regarding working conditions that are contained in treaties of the International Labor Organisation, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The main attention of SA8000 is paid to the improvement of labor conditions throughout the world. This shows the direction to organisations that improve and demonstrate their corporate social responsibility (CSR) with regards to fundamental human rights within working conditions.
