TNT LEADS A GLOBAL WALK TO END CHILD HUNGER

Bangkok, Thailand - TNT Express Worldwide (Thailand) and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) had recently hosted a charity walk “End Hunger: Walk the World” at Benjasiri Park in Bangkok.  The activity hosted was aimed to raise social awareness and funds for WFP to provide school meals to the 59 million children who attend school hungry every day, including         a critical safety net to poor families who desperately need help in this time of hardship.

The event was attended by several celebrities with a variety of fun activities such as mini-concert from famous singers: Art-Vacation, Chin Chinnawut, Tae Chin and Rose Sarinthip, games and prizes, special auction of Star’s items and photo shooting with famous actors and actresses from GMM Grammy. The donations received on the day will be completely handled to those in needs worldwide, in coordination with United Nations World Food Program.

Families struggling with the price crunch are making tough choices: cutting meals, eating less nutritious food or taking their children out of school because they are no longer able to pay school fees. WFP school meals provide a critical safety net to poor families who desperately need help in this time of hardship.

“End Hunger: Walk the World”, a yearly event initiated by TNT in 2003, will raise funds and public awareness to feed 59 million children who attend school hungry. For as little as 25 US cents WFP can give a cup of porridge, rice or beans to a child in school – a small but highly effective investment in a healthy and productive future.
