Below is a quick overview of customs and shipment requirements around the world that may cause delays to the delivery of your international mail.
China - 29th August 2011
Post Codes and town names in China
As a result of changes to some post codes and town names in China, we will update addresses in our shipping tools such as myTNT (including ExpressImport).
For TNT customers using myTNT, no action is required, as we will update your address book automatically with the changes. TNT customers using ExpressShipper, ExpressManager will be offered a little tool to help you update your Chinese addresses in your address book. Any other TNT shipping tools, will be provided instructions to update addresses stored on local systems.
What the tool does and how to Download
The tool allows fast and easy updating of ExpressShipper/ExpressManager Address Book records so that the data conforms to the new "Province-Town" combination that is required for all "Town" details in Chinese addresses. It works with any ExpressShipper/ExpressManager version, whether single or multi user.
How to download. right click on the link and choose "save link as" your PC will now ask you where you want to download the file. Select your preferred location and click on 'save'. Once the file is downloaded you just have to run the file on a machine that has ExpressShipper or ExpressManager installed by double clicking the file and the update tool will start.
Afghanistan 4th October 2010
Customs : Kabul (KBL), Afganistan Customs closure
KBL customs has closed operations indefinitely due to some security issues. There is no access to all import shipments into KBL since the morning of 4th October 2010. Export clearance has been affected. There will be delays in import clearance and delivery. It is requested that escalations are held during this time.
Argentina 24th August 2010
Customs: In line with the requirements of Argentine Customs the CUIT code (Claive Unica de Informacion Tributaria - Unique code for Tax Information) of TNT Argentina must be included on every MAWB arriving to Argentina. This requirement takes immediate effect and is applicable to both courier and cargo MAWB's. Material with MAWB's missing the CUIT cose will suffer delays and incur extra charges on the clearance process.
