Due to disruptions in the global supply chain in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, we announced a surcharge on all TNT international parcel and freight shipments beginning April 6, 2020.
FedEx implemented the Peak Surcharge on April 6, 2020 due to elevated volumes, high demand for capacity, and increased operating costs across our network.
To provide our customers with the best possible service during this time, beginning October 4, 2021, the surcharge amount for FedEx Express parcel and freight and TNT international parcel shipments originating from MEISA destined for the U.S. and Canada will increase from $0.22/kg to $0.77/kg for parcel .
The surcharge amount from India to Latin American countries will increase from $0.22/kg to $0.77/kg for parcel .
The surcharge rate per kg will be applied as shown below:
Note: Minimum amount for parcel: $1. Applicable Surcharge amount will be the higher of the per kg rate OR Minimum amount. The above mentioned rates are subject to exchange rate fluctuations. The surcharges in other countries remain unchanged.
The disruption and uncertainty in the global cargo industry has increased our cost to serve. This temporary surcharge will allow us to continue providing service as effectively as possible until global market conditions return to normal.
Until further notice. We will evaluate this surcharge on an ongoing basis. Market conditions are shifting rapidly as a result of the coronavirus. Our priority is to continue providing the best possible service to our customers during this period of uncertainty and rising cost to serve, and this surcharge allows us to do that.
