The International HR Services team of TNT Express was distinguished in September and again in October with two EMMA awards from the Forum for Expatriate Management: one for Europe in the category "Best Global Mobility Program in the Services Sector" and another for America. Launched in 2011, the Global Supplier Awards are designed to recognise best practice and excellence among CEVA’s supplier base worldwide. The awards ceremony was held end September in Ontigola, Spain. On this occasion, Bruno Sidler, CEVA’s Chief Operating Officer said: “TNT’s approach is customer focused. They have taken their wide range of services and solutions and invested time and money to make sure they are efficient and meeting our business needs.  As a global organisation whose footprint matches our own, TNT has ensured a consistent level of service wherever we have worked with them in the past year.” In addition to the Road Supplier of the Year award, seven other suppliers were recognised as category winners at the award ceremony.

TNT Express scores high on sustainability index

    Recognition Sustainability
14 September 2012 - TNT Express scored 87 points out of a possible 100 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2012 published yesterday. The company achieved a 100 per cent rating in the following areas: fuel efficiency, risk and crisis management, environmental policy/management system and human capital development.

In recent years, TNT Express has reoriented and decentralised its corporate responsibility programmes to make them part of daily operations. The priorities are to protect employees – for instance, by working to prevent road accidents – and to maximise operational efficiency. TNT Express encourages fuel-efficient driving through an in-company competition called Drive Me. With its City Logistics project, TNT Express is testing several methods to make zero emission deliveries in congested city centres. Joining forces in mutually benefiting partnerships, such as with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), remains the third pillar of TNT Express’ corporate responsibility efforts.

The DJSI is an international sustainability ranking system run by Dow Jones, a leading supplier of stock market, financial and economic information, and SAM Group Holding AG, a Swiss investment group.

TNT Express exceeds female board quota

    Recognition Management
10 September 2012 - TNT Express is the only listed company in the Netherlands to meet the 30 per cent female boardroom quota recommended by the Dutch authorities. Women currently account for 38 per cent of executive and supervisory board members of TNT Express, compared to an average of 10.4 per cent for Dutch listed companies (as of 31 August 2012). This is one of the conclusions of the "Dutch Female Board Index 2012", which was published on 8 September by Mijntje Lückerath-Rovers, a professor of corporate governance at Nyenrode Business University. The study shows that the number of women on the supervisory boards of the 96 public Dutch companies has increased by nine. Yet there was no increase in the number of female executive directors. According to the survey, more than half of the Dutch listed companies (52 per cent) still do not have any female board member.
