TNT has appointed P.L. Venkateswaran (Venkat) as its new managing director for TNT India. Venkat previously served as finance director of TNT East Asia. In this role he was responsible for managing the financial operations, legal and business control functions for a number of TNT countries, including India.

Venkat has more than 14 years of experience in the express logistics industry, as well as extensive knowledge of Asian markets. Since joining TNT in 2001, he has held several senior finance positions in India, Asia and the company’s Global Networks Group. Prior to this, Venkat worked for about ten years at ICI and Pepsi in India.

Venkat graduated from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata with a degree in commerce. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1992 and completed a postgraduate management course from the Warwick Business School.

In his new role as managing director of TNT India Private Limited, Venkat will be responsible for growing TNT’s international express delivery services and healthcare logistics business in India. Headquartered in Bangalore, TNT India operates a pick-up and delivery network comprising 100 offices and three major gateways in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.
