TNT is very proud to be the main private logistics sponsor of the Netherlands pavilion. TNT has helped the pavilion with the transportation of all goods needed on site. “The 2010 Shanghai World Expo is an important international event for China as well as for people around the world. As a Dutch company that has been deeply rooted in China for more than 20 years, we are proud to leverage our international delivery expertise to support the showcase of Dutch culture,” said Michael Drake, regional managing director, TNT North Asia.

The Netherlands did not choose a conventional pavilion, but instead portrays herself through Happy Street. The name says it all; the Netherlands Pavilion consists of a street-like structure with along the walkway small houses which are all small exhibitions on its own. The street has the shape of an eight, signifying the Chinese symbol of prosperity. The Netherlands Pavilion depicts its country’s “creativity, sustainability, and innovation, precisely those areas where the Netherlands is a pioneer,” Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs highlights. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende added that Happy Street “will certainly boost already good relations with China”.

TNT is glad to make a contribution to this partnership and celebrates this by hosting the TNT Family Days at the Netherlands Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. Two weekends in October, TNT is inviting employees and clients from all over China to Join the Journey. At the Expo, the Netherlands Pavilion will function as the home base for all TNT guests where they will be able to enjoy and explore the TNT family feeling. After an exciting morning program filled with Dutch traditional activities all guests will get the chance to explore the Expo further on their own.
