12th May 2010

Immediately following the 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which struck at Yushu County, Qinghai Province, the TNT North Asia Head Office, China IE and TNT Hoau have provided great support to the internal fundraising projects to help the kids that were affected in the Yushu earthquake. As to May 12, 2010, TNT has successfully raised more than RMB 400,000. This time, TNT is once again cooperating with one of its corporate social responsibility partners, the China Youth Development Foundation, in this earthquake relief project. All funds raised will be used to sponsor students in the affected areas, and to establish libraries or computer rooms in the area’s re-built hope schools. Meanwhile, TNT Hoau, the wholly-owned subsidiary of TNT in China, proactively outreached to charitable organizations, including the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, to provide its assistance in the relief efforts to areas affected by the earthquake. To support the local relief efforts of these organizations, TNT Hoau leveraged on its domestic road distribution expertise to provide delivery services for aid relief supplies to be transported to the affected areas.
