
In 2015 the company will take delivery of 330 Pickup-and-Delivery trucks, 300 new long-haul trailers, 200 new tractor units and 86 smaller Sprinter vans.
The upgrade is part of TNT’s strategy to improve services for customers and drive operational efficiency.

TNT is backing British industry with new trailers already rolling off the production line at Cartwright in Cheshire – one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle body and trailer manufacturers. TNT has ordered 192 box trailers with an innovative aerodynamic design, making them more streamlined and efficient. New side skirts, built with a modular design enable quick and simple repairs, which means minimal vehicle off road time.
The top of the range trailers are among the most fuel efficient on UK roads today. Features of the design include an aerodynamic aerofoil and the Cheetah Fastback sloping roof, both now popular features which research has shown produce excellent fuel savings.
It follows TNT’s recent announcement of a new super-depot in the South West of England – just one of the company’s recent investments in its infrastructure. The South-West Depot and Regional Sortation Centre, in Swindon, which is due to open in the summer, will provide greater capacity for TNT’s network, resulting in faster deliveries for customers. The 100-bay facility It will also create up to 250 new jobs for drivers, loading bay operatives and other operational and support roles.
Last year, TNT opened a new depot at Howden, in the East Riding region of Yorkshire, which, alongside expansions and developments at other depots, provides quicker, more efficient services throughout the UK.
