Businesses across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Humberside and the North East of England are able to serve their customers quicker and better after TNT Express, the country's leading B2B express delivery company, opened a new depot in Howden in East Riding.

The new depot, on the Ozone Park trading estate, handles up to 25,000 items each week. It sits within a 30-mile radius of TNT Express' other depots, putting local businesses within easy reach of an extensive road network including the M62, M18, M1 and A1 motorways. It will provide quick and efficient links to their customers throughout the country.

Alistair Cochrane, Managing Director TNT Express Services UK & Ireland, said: "The new Howden depot enables us to enhance our service capability in the area. The closer proximity to customers means we can process shipments quicker and provide later cut-off times, which enables later collections.

"TNT Express customers benefit from a smooth and efficient operation. Howden is part of our continued investment in the business and our ability to provide customers with the most cost-effective solutions to their delivery needs."

As well as bringing operational benefits to TNT Express customers, the Howden depot is helping the local economy. The company has created 32 new jobs at the depot - 26 Loading Bay Operatives and a six-strong traffic office and management team. It has also provided 40 new rounds for sub-contracted drivers.
