Vietnam Value Added Tax (VAT) rate reduction extended for TNT shipments originating from Vietnam and ancillary services performed and consumed in Vietnam (for the period from July 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023) | Posted on July 3, 2023

 

To boost domestic consumption and production, the Vietnam government announced to extend the temporary value-added tax (VAT) reduction policy that the VAT of the goods and services that are currently applied with 10% value-added tax rate will be reduced to 8%, for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2023. The invoices which are issued to both outbound bill shipper and outbound bill consignee related to TNT outbound shipments originating from Vietnam and any ancillary services performed and consumed in Vietnam during this period will reflect the reduced rate of 8%.

 

The VAT below will apply to all customers in relation to all shipments originating from Vietnam and any ancillary services performed and consumed in Vietnam, including payers billed outside and inside Vietnam:

Service resumption of personal shipment from Hong Kong SAR to Mainland China | Posted on Jul 29, 2022

Effective from August 1, 2022, we will resume the acceptance of personal shipment from Hong Kong SAR to Mainland China.

 

Service Adjustments under recent COVID-19 situation in Hong Kong | Posted on March 10, 2022

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the rise, the past several weeks have been extremely stressful. At FedEx/TNT, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our customers and colleagues. To provide the best customer support under the current circumstances, we are making the below service adjustments starting March 11, 2022 until further notice.


Customer Service Hotline

  • Service hours of the Customer Service Hotline will be 09:00 to 19:30 (Mon – Fri) and 09:00 to 18:00 (Sat).
  • The last call-in cut-off time will remain unchanged as 18:18 (Mon – Fri) and 15:00 (Sat)*.

 *On Saturday, customers can call to place an order before 15:00 and our couriers will pick up shipments before 17:00.


Cut-off /Drop-off time

  • The last cut-off time will be 18:18 (Mon to Fri) and 17:00 (Sat); no pick up service is available for any orders placed after 18:18.
  • The last cut-off time to drop off shipments at all stations and World Service Centers will be 19:30 (Mon to Fri) and 18:00 (Sat).

  • The transit time from Hong Kong to Macau may experience some delays given the current situation with the pandemic.


Weight limitation of export shipment to India | Posted on January 5, 2022

Closing time adjustment of FedEx and TNT Customer Service Hotline| Posted on January 3, 2022

From now on, you can benefit from the convenience of the joint Customer Service Hotline provided by FedEx Express and TNT. The joint Customer Service Hotline of FedEx Express and TNT in Hong Kong for both local and overseas customer is 852.2730.3333.
 

Effective from January 3, 2022, FedEx and TNT will adjust the closing time of Customer Service Hotline from 22:00 to 21:00 on weekdays. Service hours of Saturdays remain unchanged. For any enquiries after 21:00 on weekdays, it is recommendable to click here to leave your message.
 

Alternatively, we should encourage customers to make use of our digital tools for assistance.

We are currently experiencing high shipping volume flowing through our FedEx Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) hub and there was a work stoppage at our TNT air hub in Liege on March 3. Customer may experience delays in their FedEx and TNT shipments inbound and outbound of Europe. Transshipments transiting through these hubs may also experience delays as well.

The latest package pick-up time for the call on or before 15:00 on Saturdays will remain unchanged as 17:00. Any order call-in for scheduling pick-up after 15:00 on Saturdays, FedEx and TNT will arrange the pick-up service on the next working day. To arrange the pick-up service for your shipments, it is convenient to schedule online.

Service Delays due to Winter Storms in the U.S. | Posted on March 8, 2021

A major winter storm moved through North America from Feb. 12 – 16, 2021 and had caused hazardous conditions across the U.S.

E-Cigarettes and Vaping Products Will Be Prohibited on Domestic and International Shipments on March 1, 2021 | Posted on February 22, 2021

Effective March 1, 2021, FedEx and TNT will be prohibiting, in all of its domestic and international networks, shipments of all electronic cigarettes and their component parts, any other similar device that relies on vaporization or aerosolization, and any noncombustible liquid or gel, regardless of the presence of nicotine, that can be used with any such device.


If an unauthorized electronic cigarettes or vaping products shipment is identified in any FedEx/TNT network during the handling process, it will be treated as a prohibited item in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of carriage.

Adjustment of the latest call-in cut-off time for pick-up

Effective from November 16, 2020, FedEx and TNT will adjust the latest call-in cut-off time for scheduling pick-up from 20:30 to 18:18* from Monday to Friday. This cut-off time change is applicable to shipments using FedEx International Priority (IP) or FedEx International Economy (IE) service below 300 kg, TNT Express or TNT Economy Express. The latest package pick-up time for the call on or before 18:18 will remain unchanged as 20:30. Any order call-in for scheduling pick-up after 18:18, FedEx and TNT will arrange the pick-up service on the next working day. To arrange the pick-up service for your shipments, it is convenient to schedule online.

Ban on High-Risk Plant Product Imports into Australia | Posted on November 3, 2020

Effective 15 October 2020, high-risk plant products from all countries are not permitted entry into Australia within mail articles (including FedEx and TNT shipments). Any shipments containing high-risk plant products arriving in Australia will be destroyed.
 

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) is implementing these actions to address the risk of khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) on a range of plant products that are hosts of this pest. These urgent actions are being implemented in phases, please refer to the Departments website for further information regarding Kharpa beetle and high-risk plant products.

Temporary service delays for selected shipments to and from South Vietnam via SGN gateway | Posted on July 27, 2020

 

The Vietnam officials has recently implemented new cargo-flight operating hours due to the closure of a runway at Tan Son Nhat Airport, effective on July 13, 2020. This situation resulted in flight changes and there will be temporary transit time extensions for selected FedEx and TNT inbound and outbound shipments to and from South Vietnam via SGN gateway.

Customs Declaration Regulation Update on Export of Medical and Non-medical Commodity from China | Posted on April 29, 2020

In order to strengthen the quality supervision of both medical and non-medical commodity export, Ministry of Commerce of China, General Administration of Customs and State Administration for Market Regulation released Announcement No. 12 of 2020 on April 25, 2020 with immediate effect to reinforce the compliance.

 

China shippers must ensure all export shipments to be compliant with the latest regulation and paperwork requirements. You may get more information from the website of Ministry of Commerce of China (click here).

 

To ensure smooth customs export clearance from China, importers are strongly encouraged to check with their shippers in China that their export shipments of both medical and non-medical commodity export meet the regulations/guidelines imposed, prior to engaging in the export arrangement from China.
