Service disruption for East-West bound shipments due to rail line closure and flooding

A train derailment between Port Augusta and Tarcoola in South Australia on Thursday 10 April, which closed the main East-West rail line is expected to reopen on Friday 18 April.

The following Road Express shipments bound for Perth and Western Australia have been delayed as a result:

  • Ex Brisbane and Queensland shipments collected from Monday 7 April 2014 onwards;
  • Ex Sydney and NSW shipments collected from Tuesday 8 April 2014 onwards; and
  • Ex Melbourne and Victoria shipments collected from Wednesday 9 April 2014 onwards.

A precautionary ‘Linehaul delayed by incident’ status has been applied to these consignments at risk of delay. Please monitor for consignment updates via ‘Track a Package’ on the TNT Express website.

During this period, TNT Express cannot commit to normal published transit times for Road Express freight bound for WA, and recommends customers take advantage of Time Critical and Overnight Express Services for more urgent freight movements.

TNT Express is committed to minimising the impact on the service provided to its valued customers; and appreciates your understanding and patience both during the event and as the backlog of deliveries are cleared.

TNT Express is working closely with the service providers and rail authorities to provide our valued customers with updated information. More information and updates will be provided via www.tnt.com.au as they become available.
