Service Interruption - WA Bound Freight

: Monday, 7 February 2011

7 February 2011 - TNT is currently experiencing flood related delays in Perth bound Day Definite and Specialised Services ex Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

TNT regrets to inform our Customers of further network disruptions as a result of weekend flooding and railway closures in Seymour (Victoria), Tarcoola (SA) and west of Broken Hill.

Currently we are experiencing delays in Perth bound Day Definite and Specialised Services which left Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide on Thursday, 3 February 2011 onwards. This freight is currently delayed on-route as we await the re-opening of the Tarcoola line in South Australia.

As is standard TNT procedure, contingency planning is underway and we are focussing our resources on delivering freight as quickly as possible once it reaches Perth. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accurate ETA’s at this time. However, we will provide further information as soon as it becomes available.

Due to the strategic location of these railway closures TNT anticipates ongoing delays in the coming days. Whilst we are doing everything in our power to mitigate the inconvenience caused, we strongly recommend Customers utilise our Priority and Sameday services to ship any urgent freight in and out of Western Australia.
