TNT Express continuity plan

Weather disruption to New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australian services

Severe weather (heavy rain and flooding) on the north coast of New South Wales, across Queensland and Western Australia continues to disrupt TNT Express network operations.

New South Wales
The Pacific Highway remains closed in several places throughout the Kempsey region due to flooding, with redirections of TNT Express linehaul services along the New England Highway taking place. Additional transit times apply for consignments to and from Grafton, Lismore, Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour and Kempsey. This may also have a subsequent impact for Sydney and Brisbane Metropolitan services.

Queensland
Service delays are expected for consignments to and from Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Gympie, Maryborough and Bundaberg. The Bruce Highway remains closed at Gympie, alternative routes are being undertaken to minimise disruptions to linehaul services.

Western Australia
Tropical Cyclone Rusty has crossed over the coast of Western Australia and is now tracking slowly inland. Associated winds, road damage and flooding may potentially disrupt services across Norwest Western Australia over the next few days; including Broome, Port Hedland, Tom Price, Newman, Paraburdoo, Meekathara and Mount Magnet.

A precautionary ‘bad weather’ status will be applied to those consignments at risk of delay.

Additional transit times are expected for regions affected. TNT Express encourages customers to take advantage of our Time Critical and Overnight Express Services for more urgent freight movements during this time.  We appreciate your understanding and patience.

TNT Express is committed to minimising the impact on our services provided to our valued customers.

We will continue to provide you with regular updates via www.tnt.com.au as the situation unfolds. For further information on the weather warnings for these regions, please go to www.bom.gov.au
