There will be a two-week lag in the application of the fuel surcharge index. For example, the surcharge for January 21, 2019, was based on the average spot price reported for January 11. Changes to the fuel surcharge are effective each Monday. Information on the fuel surcharge for each week will be available approximately the Friday before the surcharge is applicable.
TNT may use a longer lag when the fuel price posted on eia.gov is delayed.
TNT reserves the right to change the fuel surcharge index and table without notice. Both the amount and duration of the surcharge will be determined at TNT's sole discretion. If the fuel surcharge rises above the maximum value or drops below minimum value, or there are changes to the trigger points, the above table will be updated.
The fuel surcharge for each TNT shipment is assessed on the net transportation rate and the below listed transportation-related surcharges.
As of 22 August 2022, the applicable Demand Surcharge (formerly called Peak Surcharge) will be factored in when assessing the fuel surcharge for each TNT international shipment.
As of 2 January 2023, the applicable Additional Handling Surcharge (Packaging or Weight) will be factored in when assessing the fuel surcharge for each TNT shipment.
