Vietnam Value Added Tax (VAT) rate back to normal 10% for TNT shipments originating from Vietnam (effective January 1, 2023) | Posted on January 4, 2023

As the temporary policy announced by the Vietnam government to support the socio-economic development recovery program due to the COVID-19 pandemic will end on December 31, 2022, effective on and from January 1, 2023, invoices for TNT outbound shipments originating from Vietnam and any ancillary services performed and consumed in Vietnam for both outbound bill shipper and outbound bill consignee will reflect a Vietnam VAT rate of 10%.

 

The VAT below will apply to all customers in relation to all shipments originating from Vietnam and any ancillary services performed and consumed in Vietnam, including payers billed outside and inside Vietnam:

TNT Economy service suspension from Europe to MEISA & APAC destinations | Posted on November 3, 2022

From November 7, 2022, TNT Economy service from Europe to the destinations listed in the below table will be suspended until further notice.

Shinkiba facility 4th floor closure and relocation| Posted on March 11, 2021

Dear valued customers,

The export and import operation of TNT services at 4th floor of Shinkiba facility has been closed as of March 6, 2021 and will operate in the existing FedEx facilities after this date.

Export and customs clearance operation will be relocated to FedEx Shinsuna station and import operation will be relocated to Yokohama station.

There is no change to the operation of Life Science Center at 3rd floor of Shinkiba facility.

 

Potential Service Delays in Europe | Posted on March 10, 2021

We are currently experiencing high shipping volume flowing through our FedEx Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) hub and there was a work stoppage at our TNT air hub in Liege on March 3. Customer may experience delays in their FedEx and TNT shipments inbound and outbound of Europe. Transshipments transiting through these hubs may also experience delays as well.

Service Delays due to Winter Storms in the U.S. | Posted on March 8, 2021

A major winter storm moved through North America from Feb. 12 – 16, 2021 and had caused hazardous conditions across the U.S.

While we implemented numerous contingencies to mitigate the impact to our customers during this time, there may be on-going service delays anticipated for inbound and outbound shipments across the U.S. until recovery efforts conclude across the country.

Suspension of export Express service of TNT from Japan to Asia Pacific| Posted on February 26, 2021

Thank you for choosing our services for your international transportation needs.

 

As announced previously, all TNT business in Japan has been transferred to FedEx Express as of October 1, 2020. Since the business transfer, FedEx Express provides all TNT services in Japan.

In Japan, FedEx Express is in the process of completing the integration of FedEx Express and TNT services. As part of the integration process, express service of TNT from Japan to Asia Pacific* will be suspended from March 1, 2021.

 

Moving forward, we kindly request you to consider using FedEx Express for your shipments from Japan to Asia Pacific*.

E-Cigarettes and Vaping Products Will Be Prohibited on Domestic and International Shipments on March 1, 2021 | Posted on February 22, 2021

Effective March 1, 2021, FedEx and TNT will be prohibiting, in all of its domestic and international networks, shipments of all electronic cigarettes and their component parts, any other similar device that relies on vaporization or aerosolization, and any noncombustible liquid or gel, regardless of the presence of nicotine, that can be used with any such device.


If an unauthorized electronic cigarettes or vaping products shipment is identified in any FedEx/TNT network during the handling process, it will be treated as a prohibited item in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of carriage.

Operational change for express services offered by TNT

Based on current passenger flight operations under the COVID-19 pandemic and the progress of integration with FedEx, we have decided to change operations for express services offered by TNT.

For express export shipments handled by TNT, FedEx will perform customs clearance, transportation and delivery. Please find the schedule and the detail here.

 

Changes to TNT packing materials

TNT Express GK has transferred all of its business to Federal Express Japan GK on October 1, 2020.


After the transfer date, FedEx provides TNT services. Currently, FedEx and TNT services are being integrated in Japan, and as part of this,

From February 1, 2021, the packing materials will be changed to be the same as FedEx.

Ban on High-Risk Plant Product Imports into Australia | Posted on November 3, 2020

Effective 15 October 2020, high-risk plant products from all countries are not permitted entry into Australia within mail articles (including FedEx and TNT shipments). Any shipments containing high-risk plant products arriving in Australia will be destroyed.
 

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) is implementing these actions to address the risk of khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) on a range of plant products that are hosts of this pest. These urgent actions are being implemented in phases, please refer to the Departments website for further information regarding Kharpa beetle and high-risk plant products.

 

Service enhancement of import shipments to South Vietnam | Posted on October 9, 2020

From October 5, the transit time for FedEx Express and TNT shipments from worldwide to Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces in South Vietnam (via SGN gateway) will arrive one day faster. This is part of our on-going effort to enhance customer experience.

TNT Express business transfer notification

As the FedEx Express/TNT integration and transformation of our business progresses, we are pleased to inform you that, we will combine the existing FedEx Express and TNT legal entities in Japan. This aims to improve our business efficiency and will not affect the transaction details with you.
 

As part of this process, the entire businesses of TNT Express Worldwide (Japan) G.K. and TNT Customs Clearance Service (Japan) G.K. including their operations and all their assets and liabilities, are expected to be transferred to and combined with Federal Express Japan G.K. on October 1, 2020.


For the time being, TNT product and service portfolios will remain unchanged. There will be no changes to your TNT contacts and existing TNT account.
