Stay prepared for Brexit

The UK Parliament has been granted a further extension until January 31, 2020 to the UK’s exit from the European Union (EU).

What does this mean?
The UK was scheduled to leave the EU at 11pm on October 31, 2019. However, a further extension to Article 50 has now been agreed. This extension will last until January 31, 2020, unless a Brexit deal is ratified with an earlier exit date.

For the duration of the extension, the UK will remain within the EU Single Market and your import and export procedures from/to the UK will remain unchanged.

What happens next?
Until a Withdrawal Agreement is passed by the UK Parliament, the legal default position for the UK remains exiting the EU without a deal at the end of the extension period.

While the process of determining how the UK leaves the EU continues, we will be following the Brexit developments closely, assessing impacts and making necessary arrangements to help you implement any new processes and regulations.

Notice about the ceremony of the Enthronement

Dear Valued TNT Customer,

As previously reported by the government and general media, October 22 (Tue) is designated as a public holiday, and the ceremony of the Enthronement will be held to celebrate the accession of enthronement by the Emperor. Along with the ceremony, there will be traffic control measures to be taken in Tokyo metropolitan and Haneda Airport areas from October 21 (Mon) through October 23 (Wed).

TNT will try to provide the usual services during this period, but please be noted that delivery delay may be expected to and via the traffic-controlled areas.

Especially October 23rd (Wed), strict traffic control measures will be enforced in wide areas of Tokyo metropolitan wards. Considering this situation, we would like to bring forward the call-in cutoff time in certain areas.

Affected area: Tokyo 23 wards
Call-in cut off time: 14:00

In addition, our pickup cutoff time will be brought forward in some areas, and we would highly appreciate it if you could cooperate in preparing your packages and make pick-up requests earlier than usual.

Service Impact due to Typhoon Hagibis (No. 19) in Japan
On October 12, 2019, a powerful Typhoon Hagibis (No.19) hit Japan. As a result, service delays may be anticipated in the affected areas in Japan (Eastern part of Japan).

Saturday, 12th October operation impact due to typhoon Hagibis
Due to the impact of Typhoon Hagibis, we will close Customer Service and all eastern Japan Operation. The pickup services of Nanko station, Kobe station and non-direct serve area in western Japan will operate as normal. Please arrange your pickup via myTNT2 or jSolutinos in these areas.
