When the shipment is too large?

Large, lightweight packages are charged at their volumetric weight for the space they occupy rather than their weight.

To calculate the volume in meters, multiply length by width by height. Then multiply this figure by the relevant conversion factor.

For example, to calculate the volumetric weight of a shipment sent within the UK please use the example to the left.

Calculating volumetric weight

Large, lightweight packages are charged at their volumetric weight for the space they occupy, rather than their actual physical weight. To determine volumetric weight, first calculate the volume of your package and then multiply this figure by the relevant conversion factor.

Size and weight restrictions

Other packages will be charged based on their size and weight and will be subject to restrictions. Be aware though that the TNT parcel size and weight restrictions can vary depending on origin and destination.
