TNT Express Domestic Services

Manual Handling Processing (MHP) Fee

$18.00

This fee³ is charged per item and applies to items that TNT determines are incompatible with its sortation system and require manual handling. This includes items that exceed the size¹ or weight² limits, are fragile (including glass), are poorly packaged, are unstable due to uneven weight distribution, contains liquids, have an unusual shape (including tubes, cylinders, flat-pack items, tyres, drums, and fabric rolls), or are classified as Dangerous Goods.
 

¹ Size limits:

Length <200mm or >1200mm and/or
Width <100mm or >600mm and/or
Height <15mm or >800mm and/or
Diagonal Length >1200mm

 

² Weight limits:

Weight <250g or >30kg

 

³ The MHP fee applies in addition to any other applicable surcharge for the consignment, including the Oversize Freight surcharge and the Dangerous Goods surcharge. Where a consignment note contains Dangerous Goods, the MHP Fee applies to every item under that consignment note, even if not all items are classified as Dangerous Goods.

 

Book-In Request Fee (CB1)
$42.00 per request

A fee per shipment (per consignment note) applies for each request to defer the delivery date and/or time beyond the standard transit time. 

This fee may be charged more than once per shipment and applies in addition to any other applicable fee or surcharge for the shipment, including the  Redelivery/Futile Delivery fee (RED) for each failed delivery attempt.

Book-In Storage Fees (ST1, ST2)
A storage fee applies per shipment (per consignment note), per day, for storing a shipment before its deferred delivery, as follows:

Day 1 to Day 2: No Book-In Storage fee applies for the first two days.

* Day 1 is the next business day after the shipment is received at the destination FedEx station.

(ST1) Day 3 to Day 4: $53.00 per shipment (per consignment note), per day.

(ST2) Day 5 onwards: $75.00 per shipment (per consignment note), per day.

These fees apply in addition to any other applicable fee or surcharge for the shipment, including the Book-In Request fee (CB1) for each request to defer the delivery date and/or time beyond the standard transit time.

⁴ A 'residential address’ means a home or private residence, including a location  where a business is operated from the home or private residence, and/or a shipment where the shipper has designated the delivery or pickup address as residential. 

⁵ Chargeable weight is the greater of the dead weight and the cubic weight, calculated in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Carriage and other services.

⁶ Weight limitations are subject to FedEx’s health and safety guidelines and/or operational constraints.

 

Re-Delivery Fee (RED)

Fee applies when an initial delivery attempt is unsuccessful and the consignment is returned to our depot for further processing before a subsequent delivery attempt or customer pick-up.

⁸ This surcharge applies on a per consignment note basis where FedEx is required to provide Material Handling Equipment (MHE) - for example: a forklift, because the pickup or delivery location (or both) does not have the MHE that FedEx considers necessary to safely pick up and/or deliver shipments with a chargeable weight of 30 kg and over.  

 

⁹ This surcharge applies in addition to any other applicable fee or surcharge for the shipment, including the Manual Handling Processing (MHP) fee.

 

Oversize Freight (OS0): 1.50 to 1.99 metres

Minimum Weekly Trade (MWT)

Where the total of all charges and fees (excluding GST) on each invoice is less than the MWT amount, an MWT charge, equal to the shortfall will be applied (i.e. the invoice will total a minimum of MWT amount excluding GST).

 

Card Surcharge¹⁰
This is a surcharge applied to credit and debit card payments (including direct debit payments made with credit and debit cards) that will be added to your total invoice amount at the time of payment.

 

¹⁰ The surcharge percentage will vary between 0.5%-1.8%, depending on the type of card used and may change from time to time.

Western Australia Regional Surcharge (LR)
10% - Surcharge effective 06/01/2013 (where applicable)

For all shipments travelling from/to Western Australia regional/country locations, excluding Perth and applicable to the following services:

• Road Express (XPDD)
• Fashion Express (FASH)
• Technology Express (COMP)

¹¹ The applicable unit is the greater of the:-

 

a.       weight or cubic volume of the shipment you declare to us; or

b.      weight or cubic volume of the shipment as checked by us; or

c.       average cubic volume of the shipment.

 

The Remote Area Pickup and Delivery surcharges apply to all TNT Express domestic shipping services and apply in addition to shipping charges and other applicable surcharges.

 

Invoice Late Payment Fee (LPF)

We are entitled to impose a Late Payment Fee on each invoice that has not been paid in full by its payment due date (‘Overdue Invoice’).

 

When applied, the fee charged to each Overdue Invoice will be the greater of:

(a)   $20 (excluding GST); or

(b)   0.4% of the total unpaid amount of the Overdue Invoice (inclusive of shipping rates, fuel surcharges and other applicable fees and surcharges, but excluding GST).

 

The Late Payment Fee applies in addition to any interest that TNT Express may charge on overdue amounts in accordance with TNT Express’ Terms and Conditions of carriage and other services.
