Understanding your invoice
When shipping consignments with TNT, the following surcharges apply:
Due to continuing fuel price fluctuations, TNT applies an index-based fuel surcharge to all shipments. This approach provides our customers with a transparent charging mechanism for fuel costs. Follow the links for information on our Domestic Fuel Surcharge and International Fuel Surcharge.
Following well-publicised incidents involving the transportation of packages containing illegal explosive devices, TNT has implemented additional procedures, activities and investments to safeguard our customers' shipments whilst in our custody. To partially offset the additional costs an Enhanced International Security Surcharge is applied to all international shipments.
Effective 7 January 2019, the enhanced International Security Surcharge (ESS) is incorporated into International freight charges on your tariffs.
TNT reserves the right to review TNT’s surcharges on shipments in accordance with TNT’s Terms and Conditions of Carriage and Other Services which may be viewed at www.tnt.com.au. By tendering your shipments to TNT, you agree to pay the surcharges, as determined by TNT.
As communicated by the Australian Government, from 1 July 2020, new regulatory requirements for piece-level examination of domestic air cargo apply. Click here to access the latest information.
Meeting these new regulations requires FedEx Express and TNT to invest in new security equipment and examination methods.
Having regard to those changes, we have recalibrated our security surcharge. Effective 16 August 2020, 6.9% will be added to the current TNT Domestic Security Surcharge. Click here for more information.
Services impacted are:

Please contact your local TNT office for more information on our fees and surcharges
